How You Can Benefit From Giving to the United Way

Give Where You Live
You can easily designate Caring Rivers United Way to receive your United Way contributions. Whether you work in the cities, St. Cloud or out of state, your contribution CAN be forwarded to Caring Rivers and be used to fund agencies in your home town.

During your company's annual United Way Campaign simply list Caring Rivers name and address on your contribution form: Caring Rivers United Way, PO Box 36, Elk River, MN 55330. If you would like more information please email Caring Rivers.

Reduced Solicitations
By donating to the United Way you can save time on deciding "who to donate to." It's much easier and more efficient to let solicitors know you already donated to United Way and that their organization can easily apply for United Way funds.

You write only one check for many of your favorite community organizations. In addition, your donation goes further. Giving to United Way allows your money to be used in a variety of important services and non-profit organizations, not just one or two.

Your Donation Stays Local
Over 90% of your donated dollar goes directly to help local organizations or provide local services. Because the Caring Rivers board is made up of dedicated volunteers, administrative costs are kept to a minimum allowing funds to go directly where they are needed.

You Can Choose Where Your Donation Goes
If you prefer to have your donation go to one United Way or more specific United Way funded organizations, just let us know. We will be happy to distribute your dollars to the organization of your choice.

Your Donation Is Spent Wisely
United Way funds are distributed and monitored by people who know and understand your community. Your local board members make sure United Way funded organizations meet a real community need and are accountable with their use of donated dollars. Organizations funded must show us that they serve people in our area, have a 50f1(c)(3) non-profit status and have a written non-discrimination statement.

Donations are now possible at the United Way of America web site!
United Way of America is pleased to announce that online credit card donation via the UWA external web site is now possible. Online donors will be able to make credit card or direct deposit donations using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and checking account withdrawals. Contributions will be directed back to Caring Rivers United Way. THANK YOU!

Make a Gift of Stock...
and qualify for higher tax deduction than you would by selling the stock and donating the cash. For more information on how to donate stock, go to the UWA Planned Giving website.

Making a Special Gift...
If you'd like to make a gift in memory of a loved one, on behalf of a group or organization, or designate your gift to a United Way service provider, please make your online gift as directed on this site, then send an e-mail to Lauri Robinson with your wishes. We'll ensure your gift is recorded properly.
