Make a Gift Online

How You Can Benefit From Giving to the United Way

Give Where You Live
You can easily designate Sherburne County Area United Way to receive your United Way contributions. Whether you work in the cities, St. Cloud, or out of state, your contribution CAN be forwarded to the Sherburne County Area United Way and be used to fund agencies in your home town.

During your company's annual United Way Campaign simply list Sherburne County Area United Way's name and address on your contribution form: Sherburne County Area United Way, PO Box 36, Elk River, MN 55330. If you would like more information please email us.

Reduced Solicitations
By donating to the United Way you can save time on deciding who to donate to. It's much easier and more efficient to let solicitors know you already donated to United Way and that their organization can easily apply for United Way funds.

You write only one check for many of your favorite community organizations. In addition, your donation goes further. Giving to United Way allows your money to be used in a variety of important services and non-profit organizations, not just one or two.

Your Donation Stays Local
Your donated dollars go directly to help local organizations or provide local services. Because the Sherburne County Area United Way board is made up of dedicated volunteers, administrative costs are kept to a minimum allowing funds to go directly where they are needed.

You Can Choose Where Your Donation Goes
If you prefer to have your donation go to one or more specific United Way funded organizations, just let us know. We will be happy to distribute your dollars to the organization of your choice.

Your Donation Is Spent Wisely
United Way funds are distributed and monitored by people who know and understand your community. Your local board members make sure United Way funded organizations meet a real community need and are accountable with their use of donated dollars. Organizations funded must show us that they serve people in our area, have a 501(c)(3) non-profit status and have a written non-discrimination statement.

Donations through the United Way Worldwid website
United Way Worldwide provides online credit card donation via the UWA external web site. Online donors will be able to make credit card or direct deposit donations using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and checking account withdrawals. Contributions will be directed back to Sherburne County Area United Way.

	Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund On the evening of January 12, 2010, a major earthquake, 7.0 magnitude, hit Haiti. The loss is astounding. United Way Worldwide's Core Crisis Team was mobilized to assist in immediate and long term measures. If you care to donate to help people affected by the earthquake, please visit the United Way Worldwide Disaster Fund. Online donations can also be given through GIVEMN or checks mailed to our local office: Sherburne County Area United Way P.O. Box 36 Elk River, MN 55330. All donations will be directly forwarded to the United Way Worldwide Disaster Fund. Gifts to this fund support long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure devastated by the disaster and to address educational, financial and health-related challenges.
